  • Condition: This is one of the first" 3"Recording tape"products from Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing Co.(3M).With the classic 3 spoke designer plastic reel This design is the first of three with the script writing.It comes in box with pix of " time calibrated reel", Box also Original box VG+,nice color,This is the first of Scotch/3Ms series 111 tape following their inital 100 paper based tape,and 101 series.this type lived on for at least 40 years of specifically designed recording tapes,used for the next 60+ years.. And,the earliest 3M plastic designed product reel is in VG condition.Tape is 70+years old,while still useable it's sold only as collectible.

    HERE'S A MUSEUM A/O INSTRUCTIONAL,COLLECTIBLE RECORDING TAPE.This is 3 Ms very first designer plastic script 3 spoke ,and their third offering following the 100 paper backed tape,and the 101 series.This in the in the original "Scotch designed box first used for their"Scotch Brand RecordingTape #111 A (for acetate base) for the next 60+ years"The 7"reel on the box is the first "time calibrated" reel showing 7.5 ips speed.The reel is transparent plastic,which appears to have replaced the earlier metal reels. The box is G+ with good color,dated 1951.Reel is A+.Tape is 1200' acetate..70 years old.It's still pliable,but is being sold only for historic display/instructional purposes.We have other tools/toys pixed at this auction,Vintage tape,Some NIB Audiotape Red Oxide,Scotch 111 A Pro !)"
