SM468, known as “the musicians tape”, is a classic formula, unchanged since its debut in the early 1960s and continuously manufactured by AGFA, EMTEC, RMG, PYRAL and now by Recording the Masters. You’ll find 468 surprisingly consistent, with a unique sound. Chances are some of your favorite albums were recorded on SM468. It’s famous for its warm 3rd harmonic distortion and tape compression. SM468 does not have a long play version.
