N.J.’s SZA makes history with massive stadium tour, joining Kendrick Lamar

New Jersey R&B and pop star SZA will join rap icon Kendrick Lamar on their new “Grand National Tour,” the pair announced Tuesday.
The co-headlining tour will include 19 stadium shows, kicking off April 19 in Minneapolis before visiting the Meadowlands for two dates at MetLife Stadium, May 8 and 9.
SZA, who grew up in Maplewood and graduated from Columbia High School, becomes the first New Jersey woman to co-headline the state’s largest venue. SZA headlined Newark’s Prudential Center (about one-third the capacity of MetLife) in 2023 on her “SOS” tour.

Tickets will go on sale via Ticketmaster beginning Friday at 10 a.m. A special ticket pre-sale for Cash App cardholders is set for Wednesday beginning at 10 a.m.
The former label-mates toured together in 2018 during the “Top Dawg Entertainment’s Championship Tour.” They also recently collaborated on two songs on Lamar’s surprise album, “GNX,” with the tracks “Luther,” and the album-closing “Gloria.”
The 35-year-old artist born Solana Rowe is also up for two Grammy nominations for Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song at the 2025 Grammy Awards in February.
